Pizza, with Flax Seed Crust
If you are looking for a crust that can hold up to all your delicious veggies without getting soggy, you have found it! With or without the Cheezy Sauce, this ones a winner!
Crust:
Dry ingredients:
2 T ground flaxmeal
2 cups unbleached all purpose white flour
1/2 T baking soda
1/2 T Italian Seasoning
Small pinch of salt, garlic.
Wet ingredients:
About a 1/2 to 3/4 can of *beer, maybe a touch more, add slowly and mix as you go until a good dough consistency.
*or you can use warm tap water with 1 tsp of active yeast dissolved in it
Mix it up and spread it out, on parchment, then prebake the crust (very important) for about 15-20 min. then top with veggies of your choice. On this one I used tomato paste mixed with sauce and Italian spices, then topped with onions, mushrooms, avocado, green olives, and chunks of cashew cheese, I then baked at 400 degrees for about 30 min.
Some Suggested Toppings:
sliced mushrooms (precook in microwave on paper towels for 2 minutes)
onion
peppers
avocado
dried tomatoes
banana peppers
black and green olives
cheezy sauce
jalapeno peppers
vegan shredded cheese
gimme lean sausage (fat free and vegan)
For the cheezy topping shown, simply drizzle this Cheezy Sauce over the top before serving.
