DEEP DISH PIZZA
CRUST:
1/2 to 1 can of beer, your choice
2-3 cups flour, your choice
1 T Baking powder
1 dash of salt
Mix together and roll into a ball and let sit for just a couple minutes. (Start with half the can of beer and add more to get the right dough consistency.) Then spread with wet hands in lightly oiled pie pan or on parchment paper on cookie sheet, and pre bake for 10-15 min at 350 degrees. I like to mix some garlic and onion right in with the crust and sometimes a little basil but not necessary.
Toppings: Really choose whatever veggies you like best. There are no rules. For the pizza shown I spread tomato paste all the way to the edges, then sprinkled with Italian seasoning, and Nutritional Yeast, then loaded it with chopped onions, chopped red peppers, chopped spinach, green and black olives, and tomato slices. The last 10 min, I added some precooked shredded carrots, (they really look like cheese don't they?) to the top. Total cook time is about 35 min. as this is a very thick pizza, but keep your eye on it, time and temps vary. Enjoy! IMPORTANT TIP: PRECOOK any watery veggies in the microwave for 2 min and drain water off, this will keep your crust from getting soggy.
