You won't see me post too many recipes like this one that's for sure. It is completely plant based but I don't think anyone would call them "healthy". There is too much sugar, too much fat etc.. so I save these decadent types of plant based desserts strictly for holidays. My family loves them as much as I, so I know they will get eaten up quickly and I won't be indulging in leftovers. If you are looking for an easy sweet treat for the holiday, give this one a go, it's a guaranteed winner!
Ingredients:
2 Pkgs of Pillsburys Crescent Rolls
1 1/2 cans of Apple Pie Filling
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 Can of Duncan Hines Vanilla Icing
Open the cans of apple pie filling, and using your kitchen shears, chop up the apples into smaller pieces. Take the crescent rolls (I used the reduced fat type) out of package while still good and cold. Arrange them on parchment lined cookie sheets. Sprinkle each with some cinnamon and sugar. Scoop 2 tablespoons of Apple Pie filling into the widest part of dough. Roll up tucking in sides. After rolled up, sprinkle with a bit more cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 10-13 min at 350 degrees until golden brown. Let cool completely, then put the icing on the top.
These work out to be approx 225 calories ea. Happy Holiday!
